Chapter Two

The Road

The road is less about arriving somewhere than moving through it — coastlines, inland detours, roadside pauses and long stretches in between.

These pages follow journeys rather than places. Light shifts, weather changes, and small encounters interrupt the drive.

Magnetic Island. A line out over water, somewhere near the end of the road.

Travelling this way changes what you notice. The obvious view fades quickly, replaced by smaller details — the angle of a road, a shift in colour, a quiet moment.

The camera follows that change. Less about documenting where something is, more about how it feels to move through it.

Over time, these journeys build into a broader map — coastlines, inland routes, and places that only make sense when seen as part of something longer.

For now, it begins with Queensland.
